Cleaning windows tips to make this chore fast and efficient!

First, choose a time of day when the sun is not shining directly onto the windows. Then gently brush away any debris, such as cobwebs and loose dirt with a soft bristled brush, don't forget the hinges and sills. Then you can mix a solution using 1 part white vinegar and 1 part hot water. Using the water an vinegar solution and a sponge wipe down the window. Be careful not to touch the window frames though. Wet a squeegee, a dry blade will skip. Starting in the upper corner, draw the squeegee in a single downward stroke. Repeat process until window is complete. When done pull the squeegee across the bottom of the window and then dry with cloth. When using indoors, place a  towel along the windowsill to catch drips.

Going from clutter to clean

Here are a few tips to keep your house less cluttered!

House Rule 1) Everything Has Its Optimal Place- Newspapers don't go by the door so decide where things should go and start putting them there today!
House Rule 2) Put Things Back in Their Place Immediately-It's far to easy to take things out, get distracted with something else, and forget to put them back making clutter! Think of ice cream, you take it out and when you are done with it you put it right back. You don't leave it out an hour or you'll be sorry you did...or will you?
House Rule 3) Alert the troops- Make sure everyone in the house knows that there is a new housecleaning plan and they stick by it. Otherwise you will be doing all of this by yourself (which is very frustrating) and in vain! It may take awhile for the family to catch on, but once they see how much more smoothly things are ran at home, they'll jump on board too!

Stain Removal Guide

1) Sponge stains promptly with cool water to prevent setting.
2) Always test your stain-remover on a hidden part of the garment first to check for colorfastness and bleachability.
3) Before washing, pretreat or presoak stained articles with a detergent that eliminates both protein and oil-based stains. Remember, washing and drying without pretreating can set some stains.

A Few Tips to Keeping Your House Clean

1.) MAKE A CHECKLIST- Make a checklist and stick to it. Dirt and grime will only get worse with time. There is no rule that says you have to clean the whole house in one day. Clean the bathrooms Tuesday, the kitchen Thursday, etc. Consider it like a job...stay disciplined!
2.) ASK FOR HELP-Don't be scared to ask for help cleaning and organizing. It's easy to get yourself into a rut and not know where to start. You ask yourself  'Where do I even start'? That's easy silly, at the beginning!
3.) DUMP YOUR JUNK-We are all guilty of it...keeping things you MIGHT use someday, maybe. Simple rule, if you can't remember the last time you used it...get rid of it! No one likes a pack rat...especially if you are trying to keep your home orderly.
4.) PAY ATTENTION-Limit any potential distractions. Turn off your phone so you you can pay attention to cleaning. So stay on task, and get the job done.
5.) USE GOOD CLEANING TOOLS AND PRODUCTS-that doesn't mean the most expensive either! Be creative, vinegar and water does a great job on the floors and it's very inexpensive!
6.) KEEP YOUR CLEANING SUPPLIES TOGETHER-this will save you time and frustration with trying to find that one thing...I know I left it...you know the feeling! Don't go room to room for special cleaners. This will slow you down. A great starter supply bucket might include: glass cleaner, green scrubber, disinfectant, toothbrush (for those hard to reach spaces), Comet, Pledge, Sponges, Soft Scrub, and a  degreaser. Of course a vacuum and a broom and dustpan. Swiffer Wet Pads also work great to clean hardwood floors. Way easier that dragging out the mop and bucket! OrangeGlo leaves it with a nice finish and fresh scent!
